What is the best place to eat near the Novotel Les Halles?
I'll be in Paris for 3 days this weekend with my husband. I would like find places with decent prices, good food and good atmosphere. Please give names. The hotel is 0.5 kilometers from the Louvre if that helps with the location.
There are plenty of good places around there. Le Divin at 41, rue Sainte-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie is untouristy, crowded and lively. Prices are moderate and traditional French food. A Piano-sur-le-Trottoir at 77, rue des Francs Bourgeois is a very nice and the piano is referred to in the name is given to use more good nights. Le Bistrot Marguerite at 2, quai de Gesvres kitchen specializes in the Massif Central. Try aligot as a garnish, the best mashed potatoes that have never Cantal cheese and lots of cream and butter. For something very different, though a bit expensive try Le Bel Canto at 72, Quai de l'Hôtel de Ville. (Their website is http://www.lebelcanto.com/). Waiters are opera singers and he entertained all night with beautiful music.
