Cheap Hotels Us
I’m looking for some cheap hotels in or around Tokyo and Kyoto Japan. Anyone know of any?

A few of my friends and I are trying to plan a trip to Japan. We’ve got over a year to plan, but I’m trying to find some cheap places to stay to get a general idea of how much the trip is going to take. It will probably be from three to five people. It’s a mixed group (Possibly two boys and three girls) so we need to find a place where we can get either rooms next to each other or joined rooms. Also, I understand that there are a lot of differences between US hotels and Japanese hotels, so any info on how we will be paying for them and what are some rules when going to them would be nice. Also any information on hostels would also be appreciated.

Look up Guesthouses on the internet and hostels like J-Hoppers,these sites will have links to other accommodations.I’ve stayed in hostels (YHA and others)they tend to be small and cheap, guesthouses are starting to pop up all over Japan and they tend to have dorms and rooms (and cater for groups)Hotels are not the cheapest way to travel but if you have to stay in one ,you can get family rooms (western style or japanese style)in the three star class and even some of the business hotels. Most often two single beds and an extra foldout bed in one of these hotels will be offered.Cash will be required at most, but credit cards are being accepted more often.Keep on the net and keep good records of the places you find and make decisions as a group, this will stop bitching at individuals who make a wrong decision. The other guests in a hostel or guesthouse will be happy if they don’t have to listen to arguments about the accommodation.
