Help a homeless person?
I'm trying to help someone who has recently become homeless to find a place to stay. She makes no drug and is a well-educated woman. I do not know well and due to a movement of transition I'm going, I can not have her stay with me. I can afford to stay in a hotel for one night, but not much else. Where to live, it seems that there are no churches or synagogues, which will take in. She seems very uncomfortable and scared of going to a homeless shelter. What states in the U.S. have friendly people that will take in (such as churches or synagogues friendly)? I heard that Asheville, North Carolina is nice, is this true? She refers to single-sexed shelter did not feel comfortable there. It was too full anyway.
I can understand not being comfortable in a shelter, but sometimes we have to do things that feel comfortable to move forward, but maybe there are some other ways. Much will depend on why she is homeless. If she is well physically and mentally well enough to work there are some jobs that provide a place to stay Examples include some mini storage locations providing an apartment, some jobs mostly rental charge for a private owner, some motels will provide a room as part of remuneration cleaning staff, desk, etc. There are also employees live in caregiver jobs with the two elderly, disabled and children. Some group homes and residential care facilities is a personal residence on the ground. One thing you can do to help her is to let her use his address if not one to put in applications. If you have mental health problems that may be able to find an apartment subsidized by the local mental health department. May also be eligible for public housing.not most apartments in the world, but the apartments less.and a place to stay until she can do better. It is also possible to camp at least for a few weeks in most of the store costs less than a nightbat areas.A more motels.If you have a car that can not sleep in the car locked up (Which no doubt), but a tent at the camp are legitimate, even if one does not sleep in it. Luxury camps are often too Cheab but state parks part cheaper and national forest camping sites are even less or free. Some camps have jobs that provide space for camping or even Theuns aspart of a small caravan of payment. You may also want to look for a job in cleaning or dietary hosital night, a waitress at a place overnight, the factory etc.so is not in the street or at risk at night and can sleep in the car or camping (or even a friend sofa) days and a night or two is off. Thus You can beat a place to live too .. A battered woman's shelter is an option only if you've been in a family or a boyfriend or girlfriend abuse situation in the past 30 mdays or moved bec feared that a past situation was about to reoccurr. Definitions vary, but generall abuse includes verbal, emotional and financial abuse and as physical abuse. One thing to watch is, possibly, to a situation of temporary shelter. This would be at least a room alone with a lock on the distribution Itchen doorand bath and perhaps with 1-3 other women and often a small apartment for 30 days to 6 months depending on the program. That may be less frightening for her. Few churches and synagogues can take someone and just rent a house for them, especially someone with no past connection to the church or synagogue unless they have a program regular shelter and does not want a shelter. however, if you have family or friends in other places Catholic Charities or the Salvation Army or local churches can help with a bus ticket to reach them. A note of caution as they do not know well is that some people tend to acqualintences type of use. I do not know and I'm certainly not saying that she is doing this. Just saying that happens to be alret and aware of how this situation developed and whyat she has done to try to deal with it.
